"Rainbow Trout"
Rainbow Trout is a playful and fluid celebration of movement, color, and natural rhythm. Against a warm peach-hued backdrop that suggests glowing water at dawn or dusk, two rainbow trout curve gracefully through the scene, following one another in a quiet, instinctual dance. Their forms bend in unison, a mirror of flow and trust, as if caught mid-glide beneath the surface.
Below them, abstract rock-like shapes in soft pinks, teals, blacks, and yellows scatter across the canvas — a dreamscape of a riverbed or perhaps the colorful memory of one. These forms are loose and painterly, suggesting not just the underwater world, but the magic of seeing it refracted through water, sun, and imagination.
Rainbow Trout is a moment of wonder — a reminder of the quiet beauty beneath the surface and the graceful paths we follow, often without needing to know why. It’s about connection, color, and the joy of simply moving through the world in your own rhythm.

"Beneath Superior"
Beneath Superior invites us below the surface — not into the idea of water, but into its still, stark presence. Unlike most underwater scenes awash with color and fluidity, here the water is pure white — endless, quiet, and bold. In this abstract depth, two rainbow trout swim in opposite directions, outlined in thick black paint. Their bodies, nearly the same white as the water, begin to vanish into it, visible only through subtle hints of pink stripes and faint green and white dots along their backs.
Below them, abstract rocks rest in black outlines — some filled in with vivid pink, deep black, or left untouched in white. These stones feel symbolic, like anchors of memory or fragments of thought suspended in time. The fish move past them without urgency, aware of their presence, but unburdened by them.
Beneath Superior is a meditation on contrast and silence — the blending of body and place, of presence and absence. It explores what it means to move unseen, to carry color softly, and to exist within something vast and quiet.
This is not a painting of what we usually see beneath the lake, but what we feel — stillness, history, and the slow movement of life through spaces that hold more than we’ll ever know.
Thank you for diving into the quiet with me – Amy

"Chasing the Light"
Chasing the Light is a wild and dreamlike rush — two abstracted women, rendered in deep blues and purples, sprint hand-in-hand through a bending forest, their bodies mid-motion, limbs lifted, and feet wide and flattened like prints pressed into memory. The trees lean inward, framing their movement like a stage or threshold, as if the entire forest is watching them — or letting them go.
Their faces, pale and sculptural, take on a cubist quality — white and mask-like, as if caught between form and feeling. One woman reaches upward, the other stretches forward, together embodying both release and pursuit.
Chasing the Light is a painting about hope — about breaking through, reaching out, and running toward something just beyond the frame. It speaks to friendship, freedom, and the raw, imperfect beauty of movement — especially when we are no longer running alone.
This is a painting about light not yet found, but fiercely followed.
