Blue Apples and Golden Light was the first piece in The Nature of Us series — a painting from  reflection. In this composition, a white water pitcher stands quietly behind a blue apple, resting on a rich purple tabletop. Nearby, a yellow pear stands upright, and a rust-colored bowl holds a gathering of purple grapes, one blue apple, and one green apple. The teal wall behind them adds a sense of calm, grounding the vibrant colors in warmth and light.

This piece is deeply personal — a connection to my past. Years ago, I painted a still life featuring my blue apples. Returning to that imagery felt like holding a piece of my younger self in my hands — a way to remember that time, that version of me, and the feelings that shaped those early years as an artist.
